v1.7.0
·
Feature
Permits now support subcategories, and staff can schedule and result inspections from more places in the back office.
What's new
Permit subcategories. Permits can now have a subcategory alongside their type, such as a Residential permit with an Addition subcategory. Subcategories appear on the permit detail page and in a new column in the permit explorer table. You can also filter by them in the list and map views in both the back office and the public portal. Agencies that sync permits from Google Sheets can choose which column maps to subcategory in agency settings.
Schedule, result and batch-enter inspections in one place The Inspection Scheduling page has three new action buttons:
Schedule Inspection opens the scheduling wizard.
Result Inspection lets you find a permit by permit number, address, scope of work or APN, then pick the scheduled inspection you want to result.
Add and Result Batch Inspections opens the manual entry page.
Schedule from the permit. Permit detail pages now have a Schedule Inspection button. The wizard opens with the permit already selected, so you skip straight to choosing the inspection. A new link in the Inspection History section takes you to manual entry.
Triage count in the sidebar. A red badge next to Triage shows how many inspection requests are still waiting for review.
Map status legend. The dashboard map now has a legend explaining what each stop color means.
Improvements
Key permit dates up front. Permit details now show the submitted, issued and finaled dates.
Untriaged requests are cancelled at 5 PM. Requests that haven't been triaged by 5 PM agency time are now cancelled automatically instead of being moved to the next day. Applicants get an email with a link to reschedule and the earliest date available. The Needs Reschedule tab has been removed because it's no longer needed.
Numbered comments when resulting. The manual result dialog supports a numbered list of comments, matching the inspector app.
Preferred window in PDF exports. Exported dashboard PDFs now include each inspection's preferred time window.
Document uploads moved to the back office. Applicants can no longer upload from public permit pages. Staff who try are sent to the back office version of the page.
Clearer wording. Inspection History is now called Inspection Scheduling. The map legend says "Inspection Status", and search bars read "Search address, APN, or permit #". On the public portal, permits without conditions of approval now say "Contact agency for additional information".
Fixes
In the back office scheduling wizard, permits that haven't been issued are now grayed out, so you no longer get an error at the last step.
Grouping by assigned window in PDF exports now sorts in time order (8–10 AM, 10–12 PM, 1–3 PM).
On the public portal, inspection notes in a permit's history are now visible only to agency staff.
General users can no longer open the back office, and permit contacts are visible only to staff and to people listed on the permit.
